How about a Kitchen Remodel?

If you’ve ever tackled a kitchen remodel, you know it’s not easy and its especially a challenge if you take it on yourselves. Scott and I remodeled our kitchen at home in Madison where I designed it and he built it. So fortunately, we had a little experience going into this project.

First thing we all acknowledged as a group was that the windows in the corner were smothered by the upper cabinets, so the design incorporated a look that is more open and allows the natural light to shine through. We thought a shade of navy would be a nice, timeless color for a Waupaca lake house, so that became our main color theme (Naval from Sherwin Williams, to be precise)!

Nothin like a little tag teaming effort with the dynami duo of Michael and Scott doing their favorite thing – DEMOLITiON!

Since we loved the tall cabinets but knew it just needed a face-lift, we had them refaced and not totally redone. It was a cool process to see this come to life. All of our cabinets were done by J+M Cabinets out of Appleton.

We still have a hood to install about the stove, but who wants to cut holes to the outside when the forecast is in single digits?!
